Pere Obrador

Pere currently works at Telefonica R&D, in Barcelona, Spain.
He is the Program Manager for Early and Open Innovation, and Manager of the Digital Food Lab.
Pere holds a PhD in Telecom Engineering from Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, an MS in Video Processing from the University of Southern California, and another MS in Telecom Engineering from UPC.
He has spent his professional career between Spain and California. In California he spent 10 years, 8 of them at the Hewlett-Packard Laboratories in Palo Alto as a Project Manager of the Digital Camera Research Team, which investigated new algorithms for Digital Cameras.
Currently he is in charge of the Open Innovation initiative at Telefonica R&D with external partners, like, F.C. Barcelona, elBullifoundation, Babolat, among others; he is also in charge of the Art and Technology Program in collaboration with Laboral de Gijon.
He is also an Assistant Professor at the Master in Mobile Business, at LaSalle University in Barcelona,
Pere has published 27 research papers, and holds over 30 patents.
